Award-Winning Resort in Riviera Maya Sets New Standard for Ultra-Luxury Living in Mexico

RIVIERA MAYA, MEXICO (February 16, 2022) — Rosewood Mayakoba, the renowned resort on a 620-acre nature preserve in the heart of Riviera Maya, is debuting The Founder’s Villa, the first home in their upcoming Beachfront Villa Collection inspired by its spectacular oceanfront setting. The Founder’s Villa is part of RHR Rosewood Residences and the first property of an ultra-luxury caliber available directly on Mexico’s Caribbean shores. The Founder’s Villa can be rented for stays beginning February 2022.

The 16,300-square-foot residence was envisioned by prominent architect Javier Sordo Madaleno of Mexico City-based firm Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos (SMA) with interior design by Bando x Seidel Meersseman. The six-bedroom beachfront villa is designed to reflect a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor living that celebrates Mayakoba’s natural environment and oceanfront locale. The home is encased in locally sourced wood, exuding a warm and clean exterior aesthetic including a sculptural entrance that frames the majestic backdrop of the Mexican Caribbean. Materials and textures within include rich wood accents, marble surfaces, natural stone, and intricate tilework, showcasing masterful Mexican craftsmanship.
At the heart of the home is a stunning, open-air courtyard to which every room in the house opens. This central design element offers lush tropical landscaping and water features, emblematic of the villa's marriage of jungle and ocean. Capturing unobstructed views of the white-sand beach and crystal-clear sea, The Founder’s Villa boasts sweeping spaces ideal for entertaining and gathering as well as intimate nooks for relaxation and reflection.
