Fashion designer, founder of PHVLO HATCH and Rosewood Placemaker, Johanna Ho is using the past to redefine the future of fashion in Hong Kong.
“Phvlo is not just a brand, it’s a community of creatives, a kind of counterbalance to wasteful fashion,” explains Johanna Ho, the Hong Kong-based founder of PHVLO. Since its inception in 2017, the fashion label has grown into an organisation dedicated to providing local families with work and skill enhancement within the industry. From her innovative use of upcycled and recycled fabrics and her unique sports couture, to the next generation of fashion professionals she is connecting through her platform, Ho is reviving a sleepy global fashion system one stitch at a time from her atelier in Sham Shui Po, and making changes to last several lifetimes.
