The second Staycation for Good invites families to celebrate the festive season while supporting underprivileged children

Rosewood Hong Kong launches the second edition of its “Staycation for Good” quarterly programme in partnership with Social Ventures Hong Kong (SVhk), putting sustainability and social empowerment at the forefront. “Staycation for Good II: A Gifting Christmas,” held from 18 to 20 December 2021, is dedicated to sharing joy through immersive experiences, supporting underprivileged children in the local community and encouraging involvement in pressing environmental and societal issues.
During Staycation for Good, all little guests aged from 5 years old are invited to spread the Christmas spirit by donating their pre-loved toys to Green Toysland, a non-profit organisation that collects and distributes toys, stationery and comic books to low-income families. Taking a hands-on approach to sharing, kids will also be in charge of sanitising and packing the toys with their handwritten Christmas cards into the Santa sacks upcycled from the hotel’s out-of-service linen. The upcycled Santa sacks are a collaboration with HATCH, a co-working factory that lifts women with diverse background out of poverty by providing training and career opportunities while reviving a “made in Hong Kong” tradition. The three-day staycation programme also includes interactive and fun classes to help create an unforgettable Christmas experience for those less fortunate. Little guests will take part in a Christmas cookie decoration masterclass on day one which will be one of the party food on day two, followed by an art and craft workshop on day two to adorn the Santa sack gift bags.
In addition, the children will host a treasure hunt and prepare snacks for a Christmas party for underprivileged kids from Principal Chan Free Tutorial World visiting Rosewood Hong Kong on 19 December. Principal Chan Free Tutorial World was established in 2011 by a retired school principal for the purpose of devoting his time to provide volunteer education and specifically provides free tutorial services and other educational support to the underprivileged children. The experience will introduce social awareness to Staycation for Good’s little guests, showing them the diversity of family backgrounds and income and encouraging them to contribute more to society.

Everyone can share the joy
As an extension of Staycation for Good II, the Santa sack decorating workshops will also be made available from 18 to 24 December 2021 for kids participating in Rosewood’s Christmas Kids Camp programme. In the light of Christmas spirit, guests can book individual sessions from 18 to 31 December at the Rosewood Explorers Club children’s playrooms and, HKD50 will be donated to SVhk to support this meaningful initiative.
Hotel and residences' guests are encouraged to donate pre-loved toys at the hotel's concierge desk from 1 to 26 December, to share the Christmas spirit and spark joy amongst deserving recipients. The toys should be in good working condition and each guest can donate one gift which will be shared with Green Toysland for sanitisation and donated to underprivileged students from Principal Chan’s Free Tutorial World.
Starting at HKD5,300 plus 10% service charge, “Staycation for Good II: A Gifting Christmas” will be held from 18 to 20 December 2021, subject to availability.
