Rosewood Hong Kong Presents the Newly Renovated Rosewood Explorers Club and Playrooms
In addition to the 6-week kids’ camp co-created with elite partners
July 09, 2021
Rosewood Hong Kong proudly presents the Rosewood Explorers Club’s playrooms, which have undergone an exciting renovation for little guests and their parents to enjoy a fun-filled escape. Right upon arrival at the Rosewood Explorers Club and being greeted by the Explorers Club’s concierge, kids are entertained by a clamber on the Rosewood Explorers Express train, playtime with the interactive maze game, Tic-Tac-Toe and sensory Pegboard, as well as a hunt through the toy cabinets and story book collections.
Five educational and joyful playrooms – Curious Jungle, Big Sky, Deep Blue, Mad Space and Play Lab – give children the opportunity to unleash their imaginations, learn, take part in educational workshops and pick their favourite toys from Rosewood’s curated library in each space.
In collaboration with the Hong Kong-based creative experience agency Lore, Rosewood Explorers Club has been revamped based on the aspirations and needs of the children and their parents. True to Rosewood’s A Sense of Place® ethos, the designs mirror the landscape, culture and sensibilities of Hong Kong to inspire explorer and creator mind sets, while attention to sustainability creates a connection to Hong’s Kong’s natural environment. Each playroom is uniquely themed and gender-neutral with a modern and sophisticated design, including cool shapes and a wide range of colours to cater to different and growing personalities. The distinctive journeys at Rosewood Explorers Club create quality family time, fun-filled adventures and shared memories.
CURIOUS JUNGLE
The Curious Jungle mirrors Hong Kong’s lush greenery and animated wildlife and the room is filled with vibrant jungle tones and tropical fabric prints on curtains and cushions. The hero of Curious Jungle is the oriental-inspired temple treehouse complete with a hand winch for lifting toys to the top floor and a slide for fast escapes. All around the room kids find soft tree trunks and rocks to play with and for those who like a challenge there is the RigamajigTM Basic Builder, a large-scale wooden building kit for hands-on, collaborative free play and learning.
BIG SKY
Big Sky is themed around Hong Kong’s beautiful scenic mountains and creates a sense of scale with a large wooden plane at its centre overlooking the Hong Kong skyline. The plane is equipped with an interactive wooden dashboard for young kids to role play and see their dreams take flight. A feature wall provides a backdrop of the peaks of Hong Kong and city silhouette. There’s a collection of curated books for parents to read to their kids and the room is also filled with sky-themed toys. The charming and cheerful sunset colors of yellow, coral and teal make for irresistible photos and selfies.
The Green Dollhouse is a beautiful wooden playset that educates children through its energy-efficient design that incorporates a wind turbine, solar panels, recycling bins, rain barrel and blinds that can adjust the amount of sunlight and air circulation. The Green Dollhouse is made by PlanToys, a Thai company with a strong mission of sustainability; every single step of production is considered in terms of minimising environmental impact.
Kids are just a hop, skip and a jump away from hours of fun – once they climb onto the Jungle JumparooTM, they won’t want to hop off! Children love swinging like monkeys from the secure poles and bouncing on the inner tube-like kangaroos. The Jungle Jumparoo provides a safe and healthy way for children to get the exercise they need, without compromising on fun or enjoyment. Ten minutes playing on the Jungle Jumparoo is equivalent to children running for 33 minutes and it's exercise they'll be excited to do.
DEEP BLUE
Deep Blue is a South China Sea nautical-themed playroom where lifesavers are used as cushions and wicker baskets complement the white walls and wood trim. An ocean of blue-coloured transformative forms inspires fun adventures and unlocks kids’ creative spirit. The Ocean Explorers wall is for reading, playing with toys and role playing with a moving steering wheel. There’s also a bounty of Big Blue Blocks, designed by U.S. company Imagination Playground – these giant, dense foam blocks come in a wide variety of sizes for kids to build fantasy structures.
MAD SPACE
Mad Space is inspired by a fictional Rosewood Space Station floating amongst the stars, awaiting its next mission! The room is designed as a multifunctional area offering fun interactive games projected onto the wall and a quiet and comfortable reading corner with books from the Space Station-themed cabinet. The space station wall comes complete with a space hatch and tactile interactive mission control buttons. A second interactive touch wall has 20 points of contact allowing groups of kids to interact with the games at the same time. Children can play with five themed games ranging from dinosaurs, a household interior, Octonauts, planet Earth and space.
PLAY LAB
The Play Lab activity room is a blank canvas where kids can unleash their creativity. A purpose-built pegboard and magnetic whiteboard wall is the backdrop for activity workshops and Rosewood Camp ambassadors use the magnetic stickers on the wall to showcase amazing artworks created by Camp children.
Playrooms are available for young hotel guests and Rosewood Residences kids. Parents can book 45- minute playroom sessions at HKD250 up to a family of four. For more information and for bookings, please send an email to hongkong.rosewoodcamp@rosewoodhotels.com or call +852 3891 8339.
