Rosewood Mayakoba celebrates life with a “Dia de los Muertos” event blending tradition with luxury and a partnership with Tequila Clase Azul Gold.
outubro 08, 2020
Riviera Maya, Mexico – This November, Rosewood Mayakoba celebrates life with a “Dia de los Muertos” event blending tradition with luxury. “Dia de los Muertos” or Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday remembering friends and family of the past, with the intention of providing spiritual guidance.
WHAT: Rosewood Mayakoba will be hosting an intimate event celebrating the rich, deep-rooted Mexican traditions of “Dia de los Muertos”. The festivities will be showcasing the culinary heritage of the region, along with bright, colorful Papel Picado (Mexican folk art), Cempasúchil flowers (Aztec marigolds), Catrina Skeletons, and Calaveras (Sugar Skulls) representing vitality.
The celebration will feature foods prepared by Chef Juan Pablo Loza and his culinary team that focus on the most important ingredients in Mayan cuisine: chile, vanilla, cocoa, and honey, with maize taking center stage as it was the cornerstone of Mayan cooking. An array of dishes celebrating the local harvest season will fuse ancestral tradition, with modern techniques. A selection of locally-crafted beer, wine, tequila and mezcal will also be served. Live entertainment will also be provided by local band “K’aay Voox”.
Additionally, this event marks the debut of Rosewood Mayakoba’s partnership with Tequila Clase Azul Gold. The resort will be the only property in Southeastern Mexico offering this limited edition tequila, whose mission is to reinforce a deeper appreciation for the beauty of Mexico and its rich traditions; the spirit’s bottle is crafted by artisans in local communities, and is a mix of both glass and ceramic, with 24k gold trim and Clase Azul’s iconic agave medallion, also dipped in gold.
Guests will be able to honor loved ones who have passed with a traditional altar de muertos, and can to bring a picture of a family member, friend or pet to share.
Guests are also encouraged to wear black or to dress as a Catrín or Catrina.
WHERE: Aquí Me Quedo, Rosewood Mayakoba’s newly-debuted private seaside retreat.
