Sense, A Rosewood Spa at Rosewood Villa Magna is an intimate and relaxing space, discreetly located on Madrid's most prestigious avenue, and offers nurturing treatments to those that seek a healing spa experience, including both hotel guests and the local public. The spa’s philosophy is based on a Sense of Place, which guides all Rosewood hospitality.
Sense, A Rosewood Spa, has three fundamental pillars.
Firstly, a Sense of Place, where the carefully curated rituals and treatments are based upon "Lost remedies" inspired by the traditions and ancestral ingredients of Spain and its capital Madrid.
Secondly, a "Sense of individuality", giving guests a personalized approach by the highly trained, experienced, and friendly team.
Finally, a "Sense of balance", achieves harmony for mind and body by combining wellness with beauty rituals.
Offering expertly appointed wellness facilities, Sense, A Rosewood Spa at Rosewood Villa Magna has four treatment cabins, including a couple’s room, as well as an elegant relaxation space.
The luxurious hydrotherapy area has a steam room, Finnish sauna, sensation shower, and a hydrotherapy spa bath: all of which are excellent resources for detoxifying the body and improving general circulation.
Spacious guest changing rooms include luxury shower facilities and a full range of grooming amenities.
One of the outstanding spa facilities is the Hammam, evocative of the Arab roots of the city of Madrid, where guests can experience the unique skin cleansing rituals traditional to this culture.
In addition to this exquisite wellbeing environment of luxury and tranquility, there is also a fitness center with state-of-the-art training equipment, open 365 days a year for hotel guests.
Interior design: The spa echoes the serenity of nature, with the pleasing contrast of calming sandstone and rich dark woods, complemented by the subtle sound of water. Thoughtful details run throughout each space, from the inlaid fossils in the relaxation room tables, to the use of contemporary accents.
Lost remedies
Sense, A Rosewood Spa revives “Lost remedies", a specially curated collection of remedies based on ancient Spanish health and beauty secrets and rituals, typically used by Spanish grandmothers, our beloved ‘abuelas.’
Using plants emblematic of Spain, from local bay leaves to Mediterranean lavender, thyme, rosemary, jasmine, and orange blossom, we use ingredients that are renowned for their therapeutic qualities and aromas.
BAY LEAF RITUAL (120 min)
An immune system stimulating treatment, using healing national bay leaves and Mediterranean ingredients to nourish the skin, relax muscles and improve circulation. The ritual consists of a stimulating foot bath, exfoliation, and body mask, where the main ingredient is bay leaf mixed with other natural, essential oils. The ritual finishes with a personalized relaxing massage using quiromassage techniques and ends with a delicious bay leaf infusion specially formulated for this treatment.
For millennia, bay leaves, rich in vitamins and minerals, have been valued for their remarkable medicinal benefits, helping with respiratory problems to reducing inflammation. Bay can reduce muscle & joint pain as well as tone the skin, boost the immune system, treat migraines, and help digestion.
RITUAL MAYRIT HAMMAM (90-120 min)
Unique to Sense, A Rosewood Spa at Villa Magna is this Hammam ritual, inspired by a classic Moroccan Hammam Experience. Using Charme D'Orient products, the ritual commences with a body massage using artisan black soap and then exfoliated with the Kessa glove, leaving the skin silky and smooth. The rhassoul mask, made with argan oil, shea butter and orange blossom water, will purify, mineralize, and nourish the skin. The gentle and authentic Teksal movements (traditional Moroccan stretching technique) combined with the warmth of the Hammam will nurture the mind and body into a state of deep relaxation.
ROSEWOOD SIGNATURE EXTREME 360° “EVIDENS DE BEAUTÉ” (90 min)
The ultra-powerful, comprehensive solution for pro-ageing and firmness. Specifically developed to amplify the skin's beauty, soothe signs of ageing, and stimulate cell renewal. This ritual is designed for mature, dehydrated, tired and dull skin in need of an extreme solution to fight the signs of aging. It reshapes facial contours, reduces wrinkles, and brightens the complexion, thus restoring density, vitality, and radiance to the skin. The delicate eye area is left renewed and toned, thanks to the "awakening" eye mask that restores a youthful look to the eyes. This sublime treatment begins with a complete and relaxing back massage.
WELL-AGING "AYUNA” (60-90 min)
From Barcelona-based eco-luxury firm Ayuna, Well-Aging focuses on luxurious skin care by integrating the concept of wellness into a rejuvenating facial experience. This unique approach introduces ‘pro-aging,’ which symbolizes harmony with the passage of time.
The treatment is suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive, as well as for all ages. This sensory experience uses natural ingredients such as green carrot, pomegranate, and turmeric root to promote cellular rejuvenation and stimulate the limbic system. The therapist will perform geometric or lymphatic massage depending on the skin's needs, to reveal a firmer, more luminous complexion.
THE GROUNDING RITUAL (90-120 min)
Sense, A Rosewood Spa, offers this grounding ritual, a truly holistic approach to wellness that combines breathing to calm the nervous system, the ancient healing art of acupressure, and therapeutic touch to reconnect the mind and body. A rhythmic massage, using artisan Ground Wellbeing essential oils from Ireland, rebalances the central nervous system.
This flowing, rhythmical back, abdomen, and foot massage treatment is performed at a slow and mindful pace with your choice of organic aromatherapy oils, encouraging a deep state of relaxation.
The 2-hour ritual also includes the use of Gua Sha stones, along with elements of reflexology, to stimulate collagen production and support lymphatic drainage of the face, completing this head-to-toe body ritual.
Wet Area
Complimentary access to our luxurious and tranquil wet area is included with all rituals and therapies and can be enjoyed before or after the treatments. In addition, classic manicures or pedicures and waxing are also available.
