Chef at Amos Restaurant
Mauro Garcia
Born in Santiago de Compostela, Mauro's passion for gastronomy was ignited from a young age. While completing his studies, he spent his free time helping at his grandparents' restaurant. Though initially pursuing a career in science, Mauro soon realized his true calling was in the kitchen. He studied Gastronomy Management at the Centro Superior de Hostelería de Galicia and began his culinary journey at Faro de Cádiz, followed by Cenador de Amós in Cantabria.
In 2017, he became Chef de Partie at the renowned Cenador de Amós, under the mentorship of three-Michelin-starred chef Jesús Sánchez. Mauro's dedication to excellence, inherited from his grandfather, was honed during his time at Amós, where he contributed to the restaurant's rise from two to three Michelin stars in just three years. This achievement remains one of his proudest moments.
Today, Mauro leads the culinary direction at Amós, now located at the Rosewood Villa Magna, collaborating with Jesús Sánchez to offer a menu that embodies the quality, tradition, and sophistication of northern Spain’s contemporary cuisine.
