Ultra-luxury Rosewood Phuket’s widely recognized eateries, Ta Khai and Red Sauce restaurant has again been honored in the Michelin Guide 2020, two years of prestige with the food giant. Michelin is considered the world’s most reliable fine dining advisory, naming the restaurants as must-try dining destinations for foodies all around the globe.
Delicious Authenticity at Ta Khai
Rosewood Phuket’s seafood restaurant, Ta Khai, which translates to “fishing net” in Thai, offers a menu planned around the local fishermen's daily catch to ensure that only the freshest bounty from the sea appears on the tables. At the helm is Uncle Nun and Aunt Yai, the married chef couple who first met over a shared passion for authentic southern Thai cuisine and since have honed their culinary skills over a 30-year union.
Their love of aromatic flavors and seafood specialties is showcased, accompanied by traditional family-style sharing of dishes to ensure an authentic culinary journey. One of the signatures is the curried crab, Gaeng Poo, which uniquely features their own homemade curry paste and whose recipe has evolved over the couple’s years together. Another example is the Hor Mok Talay, a traditional Tilapia fish mousse flavored with curry.
The charming site includes a kitchen-to-table herb and vegetable garden and live fish pond inspired by local seafood markets.
Italian Flavors and Emerald Bay Views
Red Sauce is fittingly named after the fundamental mother sauce of Italian cuisine. The menu demonstrates the passion for Italian cooking traditions and classical flavors with tantalizing dishes using imported prime cuts and locally sourced and naturally grown ingredients. Lunch features a choice of light and simple flavors such as Panzanella Salad and Straciatella Pizza and dinner showcases authentic dishes such as Sea Bass Crudo Bistecca Fiorentina for two and Roasted Free Range Half-Chicken.
Along with the indoor seating, an open-sided terrace overlooks the serene swimming pool and offers stunning Emerald Bay vistas.
