Over the next 6 months, Asaya hosts the world’s leading practitioners across many disciplines. Immerse yourself in a meditative retreat for up to a week and emerge rested, relaxed and refreshed, or challenge yourself in small-group workshops, led by masters in their field, which will equip you with deeper knowledge and new life skills.
Recognizing the unique nature of the stresses in our lives today, our wellness programs are created for you alone, without judgment. World-renowned visiting expert practitioners combine the best traditional and alternative therapies that treat and heal, or inspire and empower you to realise your goals and aspirations and achieve deep, positive change. Immerse yourself in a meditative retreat at Asaya for up to a week and emerge from it rested, relaxed and refreshed, or instead challenge yourself in small-group workshops, led by masters in their field, which will equip you with deeper knowledge and new life skills.
One such visiting master is Khun Pot, a native of the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai, often referred to as the Kingdom's spiritual capital. He is a master massage therapist with more than 30 years experience in Thai traditional medicine. Using his deeply intuitive touch, he is able to explore how congestion and energy move and function in the body and has developed a unique, masterful style of bodywork, known as Thai tok sen massage, which is profoundly transformative. This ancient practice involves the use of special wooden instruments made from the bark of the tamarind tree to relax muscles by a rhythmically tapping motion, tok sen, which creates a healing vibration working deeply through the fascia and muscles in the body. Khun Pot is currently at Asaya until 5 June.
The talents of Khun Pot will be followed in October 2019 by visiting practitioner Alexander Ivanov, a wellness practitioner dedicated to creating authentic experiences and unique environments which encourage holistic well-being. Originally from Bulgaria, his journey into healing and bodywork has taken him to Thailand, Bhutan, Cambodia and Indonesia, where he learned an extensive range of therapies which are now skilfully integrated in his treatments. One of his many specialties is '5 Elements Qigong', a system of self-healing and energy (qi) cultivation which has been practised in China for thousands of years. Through a set of movement exercises, breathing work and healing sounds, this class promises to balance the qi flow along meridians and major organ systems of the body.
