As a pioneering female chef and fierce advocate for Khmer cuisine, Chef Nak has dedicated her career to safeguarding traditional recipes that are at risk of disappearing. Over the last 15 years, she has traveled the country, working with families to document hundreds of recipes and sharing them with the world through her website (chefnak.com), social media, cookbooks, culinary school, and restaurant.

Rosewood Phnom Penh collaborates with three creatives; celebrity chef Rotanak Ros, or “Chef Nak”; digital artist Serey Sot, also known as “Soben,” and award-winning Cambodian photographer Lamo to debut “SAOY,” a group exhibition showcasing the long-lost Khmer cuisine and its recipe and ingredient. The show presenting tempting dishes, such as shrimp paste dip with crispy rice, sits invitingly against a black and gold backdrop, and “golden-stuffed chicken” takes center stage surrounded by local ingredients served in gleaming tableware.
