PRESS KIT
Launched in 2021, this program is delivered in partnership with the École d'Hôtellerie et de Tourisme Paul Dubrule. Its aim is to offer hands-on learning opportunities to disadvantaged Cambodian youth pursuing a career in the hospitality industry. In 2023, we welcomed the first batch of 15 students. Each one received a monthly allowance of USD160, service charge payments, complimentary room and board, and medical insurance. The program not only provides financial support but also offers invaluable real-world experience.
In collaboration with local NGOs such as PSE, Paul Dubrul, Sala Bai, and Don Bosco, we offer students training and learning opportunities at one of Rosewood Phnom Penh's outlets. Over 100 of these students have gone on to become full-time associates.
This program gives our colleagues the chance to transfer to another department based on their performance, pushing themselves further towards a career that aligns with their future aspirations.
Every year, the Rosewood Phnom Penh family embarks on a journey to the rural provinces of Cambodia to contribute school supplies and food items to those in need. Donations are made through a number of organizations including Coconut School, SOS Children's Village Kampot, Steung Keav and Meat Peam School. Through these initiatives, we aim to make a positive impact on the lives of children and their families in these areas. By providing essential resources, we hope to support their educational journey and alleviate some of the challenges they face. We plan to expand these outreach efforts in the future.
Rosewood Phnom Penh joined forces with Vattanac Property Limited to deliver an informative workshop for the students of Chamka Le school. The session gave them valuable insights into the various career opportunities available within the hospitality industry.
This event was organized in support of Cambodia’s National Blood Donation Center in Cambodia, helping to save the lives of patients in need of blood transfusions. The drive was held in the hotel’s Salon, where over 400 participants gathered to donate blood.
Every year we invite our associates, along with their friends and family members, to donate unused items they no longer want to our flea market. This year a total of USD2,900 was raised from sales, to be used in support of our social impact events.
Two tons of glass bottles were donated to the Coconut School to construct school buildings and classrooms. Additionally, our wet and dry amenities are 100% sustainable, ensuring minimal environmental impact.
The majority of our food waste is returned to the soil. This is achieved through partnerships with local suppliers, who receive our food waste for conversion into compost.
In 2022, we partnered with Vattanac Property Limited on a project to collect plastic waste from our riverbanks. 40 associates joined the effort, focusing on the Mekong and Tonle Sap riverbanks and successfully collecting two tons of plastic waste.
Our associates participated in the monthly initiative Tikrong Sa’art, also known as Clean City, volunteering their time to collect and clear garbage from the streets of Phnom Penh.
In 2022, our associates came together to raise awareness about preserving and increasing the number of trees in our community. We embarked on a trip to Koh Kong province, where we planted 2,000 mangrove trees to help safeguard water quality, stabilize the coastline, and create a nurturing environment for fish and shellfish.
Located on level 9, our 50-meter sky garden aims to provide our guests with natural and wholesome food. We are dedicated to sourcing 100% of our greens domestically, ensuring the freshest and highest quality ingredients for our guests.
