CELEBRATE THE FESTIVE SEASON AT ROSEWOOD LONDON
November 11, 2024
Rosewood London welcomes guests to experience the magic of the festive season with a series of celebrations and experiences. From the spectacular courtyard tree alongside the warm hospitality of Hacienda 1942 in partnership with Don Julio 1942, to the hotel’s signature Art Afternoon Tea continuing its collaboration with artist John Booth with a festive interpretation. An array of thoughtfully curated gifts completes the winter offering, ensuring something special for every visitor this season.
THE FESTIVE TREE AND DECORATIONS
Taking centre stage in the iconic courtyard, this year’s Christmas tree has been designed by Paul Thomas. The 24ft Christmas tree sets the tone for the entire hotel’s decorations with rich burnt orange and deep forest greens that complement the warmth of the winter terrace experience, Hacienda 1942 in partnership with Don Julio 1942, an intimate dining venue offering a warm escape inspired by the vibrancy of Mexican culture.
The festive spirit continues throughout the hotel’s public spaces, with Paul Thomas’ artistic arrangements transforming each distinct venue. The lobby welcomes guests with seasonal displays, while Holborn Dining Room, Mirror Room, and Scarfes Bar each feature bespoke decorative elements, creating a sophisticated atmosphere.
FESTIVE ART AFTERNOON TEA, THE JOHN BOOTH COLLECTION
Building upon Rosewood London’s successful collaboration with multi-disciplinary artist John Booth, the hotel’s Art Afternoon Tea has been reimagined for the festive season. This new collection has been entirely co-created to showcase three exquisitely crafted masterpieces by Executive Pastry Chef Mark Perkins inspired by the distinctive artistic vision of John Booth.
The Pear draws inspiration from the iconic Enzo Mari pear painting that graces John Booth's personal collection. This sophisticated creation marries traditional gingerbread with a refined salted caramel mousse, harmoniously balanced by pear jelly, all presented atop a masterfully crafted speculoos biscuit.
The Bauble, an homage to vintage Christmas ornaments, presents a decadent composition of chocolate sponge layered with orange feuilletine, complemented by a rich chocolate mousse and mandarin blood orange jelly, bringing Booth's vibrant colour palette to life through culinary artistry.
The Tree showcases Booth's dynamic brushwork through a refined combination of vanilla madeleine sponge and smooth vanilla white chocolate mousse, elevated by a cassis jelly. Set upon a striking red sablé biscuit, this creation is crowned with an artisanal chocolate tree decoration that embodies Booth's joyful artistic expression.
The Festive Art Afternoon Tea will be served in Rosewood London's Mirror Room, Monday to Sunday from 12.00 p.m. to 5.45 p.m., priced from £85 per person. Guests can also enjoy the experience with a glass of R de Ruinart, or Wild Idol 0% for £95, with a cocktail for £92 or with a glass of Ruinart Rosé for £100.
