PRESS RELEASES
December 01, 2017
This Christmas, Rosewood London has partnered with Samsung to transform its iconic High Holborn façade and Archway into a Christmas sensory experience. As part of Rosewood Mini Wishes, on 1st December a festive narrative will unfold on the front of the Grade II- listed Edwardian heritage building through digital mapping to create an illumination show.
The activation will be showcased daily in intervals between 5.00 to 9:00 p.m. until December 31, 2017. The concept behind the digital display takes inspiration from Rosewood's Mini Wishes campaign, telling the story of a young girl at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and the journey of her Christmas wish.
Travelling through a cityscape silhouette to a Christmas tree forest and a candy toy-land, the elegant design also captures the essence of Christmas and the nostalgic feeling of anticipation one feels as a child. The final effect is a stunning three-dimensional digital display that highlights how the public’s wishes can raise vital funds to help make a difference to seriously ill children from across the UK who are treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Tucked away just off the pavement of High Holborn, Rosewood London’s Archway will be transformed into a Galaxy of Wishes: An immersive sensory experience that that will glitter with all the festive touches of Christmas. Visitors will be able to interact with the LED Archway using a Samsung Galaxy S8, through which they can experiment with the lighting and other elements specifically for the display of their surroundings by entering their email address to make a ‘wish’, bringing their Christmas tale to life. On behalf of the users, Samsung will donate £1 for every wish made to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
Now in its third year, Rosewood Mini Wishes offers a programme of activities to celebrate the festive season in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. Father Christmas will tour across London daily from December 1st to 12th in his iconic red Mini convertible, visiting local children’s schools while encouraging the public to make Christmas wishes for £1, with all proceeds going directly to GOSH.
The hotel will also be donating £1 from every hotel room bill and all bills with festive elements directly to GOSH for the entire month of December. Rosewood Mini Wishes will culminate on December 13th in a spectacular Gala Dinner where guests will take part in a silent and live auction to raise vital funds to help make a difference to seriously ill children from across the UK for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
