Santa Fe’s most lauded boutique hotel commemorates its storied past and prominent role in “The City Different” with new Silver Anniversary offerings
June 16, 2016
On July 1, 2016, Santa Fe’s leading luxury hotel, Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi, will celebrate its 25th anniversary. In honor of this milestone, the hotel is launching new programming and special offers inspired by Santa Fe’s native traditions and the city’s rich cultural heritage.
“Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi has an illustrious history, and we are extremely proud to celebrate our silver anniversary this year,” said managing director Stephanie White. “Since the hotel opened its doors in 1991, the local community has helped the Inn preserve Santa Fe’s culture and we thank them for their support and help in reaching this milestone.”
Previously a government building, the property was transformed into a luxury hotel in 1991, which showcased traditional Southwestern art and architectural styles and honored the culture and heritage of Santa Fe’s native people through both its name and interiors. At the Inn’s grand opening on July 1, 1991, a Franciscan priest, Buddhist monk and Hopi shaman gave traditional blessings, and members of the original hotel staff buried a time capsule filled with prayers and wishes for a successful future.
Exactly 25 years after Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi’s memorable opening ceremony, the hotel will launch several special new offers, amenities and programs for guests:
The Anasazi Restaurant, Bar and Lounge will offer a special dish that pays tribute to the Anasazi Tribe through local ingredients and native preparation. Created by Chef Edgar Beas, the Pinon Smoked Lamb with Maize and Wild Edibles dish will be available from June 22nd, 2016.
A commemorative 25th anniversary cocktail, Silver Dragon, which will include Casa Dragones Blanca, peach liqueur and Om liqueur, will be available at the Anasazi Restaurant, Bar and Lounge throughout the hotel’s anniversary year.
Beginning July 1st, couples celebrating their 25th anniversaries at Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi will receive a special silver anniversary amenity.
In partnership with Nathalie, Santa Fe’s leading designer for luxury Western apparel, Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi has created a one-of-a-kind, custom belt buckle, which will be available for guests to purchase in celebration of the hotel’s silver anniversary.
Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi has also created a special 25th Anniversary Package that provides guests with a full immersion into the culture and history of Santa Fe with luxurious nightly accommodations in the Anasazi Suite. Priced at USD25,000, the five- night VIP experience begins when guests arrive at the airport and are whisked away in a classic vintage car. Throughout the trip, guests will have access to a myriad of curated “A Sense of Place” activities, including a private session with a local Tesuque Shaman, a once-in-a-lifetime safari through the Grand Canyon, white water rafting and customized cowboy hats and boots. The offer will also include private dinners by Chef Edgar Beas in the Wine Cellar and at a private home in the picturesque Santa Fe mountains.
The new programming and offers will launch at a special event hosted at Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi on June 16, 2016. The celebration will begin with an appearance by the hotel’s original developer, Bob Zimmer, as well as a blessing by local shaman Joseph Garcia and a proclamation from Mayor Javier Gonzalez. Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy entertainment by tribal dancers and guitarist Jesus Bas, and special cocktails and bites created especially for the occasion.
About Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi
Located in downtown Santa Fe, steps from the historic Santa Fe Plaza, Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi® is an intimate world-class vacation retreat and New Mexico’s most lauded hotel. Since it was established in 1991, the Inn has set the standard for luxury and service among small city hotels. The 58-room boutique hotel unveiled a full guestroom reimagination in 2014 to embrace a more modern, sophisticated aesthetic, while still celebrating the enduring creative spirit of the region’s Native Americans. To complement the stunning new look, the restaurant’s menus epitomize modern Southwestern cuisine, featuring the strong ingredients and flavors of the Southwest married with touches of Latin cuisines.
