Making its European debut, the luxury boutique showcasing signature chocolates, pristine pastries, artful cakes and seasonal specialties, which was conceptualised at Rosewood Hong-Kong, will be under the helm of the luxury Parisian hotel’s Pastry Chef, Matthieu Carlin. Matthieu will revisit French Pâtisserie classics while offering his own unique take. These decadent treats can be enjoyed in their own dedicated space, curated by interior designer Tristan Auer, a long-term collaborator of the hotel.
A variation on the Butterfly Pâtisserie dining concept at Rosewood Hong Kong, Butterfly Pâtisserie at Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel has become the new playground of Pastry Chef Matthieu Carlin. From éclairs, millefeuilles, flans, tartes tatin, black forest gateaux and cheesecakes to langues de chat, cookies, chouquettes, financiers and madeleines, Chef Carlin has created desserts worthy of the jewellery case inspired displays they rest in. Guests can enjoy all the best-known sweet treats, plus a selection of Butterfly Pâtisserie's own signature creations while marvelling at their creative beauty. "Butterfly Room is a true showcase of flavours; a boudoir, a place where you want to linger and not feel guilty about enjoying a sweet treat", he confides.
As the new gourmet space in the Parisian palace, the Pâtisserie, open daily, evokes the spirit of sharing and showcases the expertise and savoir-faire of Carlin's team. Designed like a jewellery display around which guests can move, Butterfly Pâtisserie is also a showplace paying homage to the works of iconic artist Damien Hirst, known for his creativity and craftsmanship. Butterfly Pâtisserie and Butterfly Room are set in two separate spaces, with their aesthetic and graphic feat, the creation of interior designer Tristan Auer, who favours both attention to detail and fine finishes. The design combines lightness, freshness and finesse, featuring display cases, soft lighting and fluidity of movement due to a floor adorned with gold leaf pâte de verre glass, marble and wooden tiles.
