Mirko Marchi was appointed Managing Director of Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, the historic Tuscan resort located outside of the Montalcino region, in October 2022.
In this role, Marchi oversees all aspects of the resort, including the two on-property restaurants and spa. As a Tuscan native with over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Marchi brings a wealth of expertise to his new position. Prior to joining Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, Marchi worked for Marriott and Hyatt in the U.S. and the Middle East.
Mirko started out in the Food & Beverage space before growing into his first key role as Assistant Director of F&B at the Park Hyatt in Milan in 2006 – a key opening in the Italian fashion capital in the early 2000s – followed by 10 years as Director of F&B and Director of Operations between the Hyatt Regency in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt and various posts in the United States with Marriot International. He joined Rosewood Hotels & Resorts in Italy in 2019 with his latest role being Director of Operations, prior to becoming MD.
Originally from Viareggio, in northern Tuscany, Mirko is passionate about wine and has a penchant for outdoor adventures and intrepid travels, another reason he was very much looking forward to settling into his new home in Val d’Orcia where he can taste new wines and explore new trekking trails to his heart’s content.
