PRESS RELEASES
December 17, 2020
Rosewood Bangkok has unveiled a premium collection of 17 new guestrooms, signature suites and “houses” that represent first-of-their kind superlatives in the capital: expansive high rise outdoor terraces with private plunge pools, the highest elevation luxury accommodations in the city, state of the art wellness features and uninterrupted views of the metropolitan skyline and lush nearby parks from floor-to-ceiling windows. The choices range from sumptuous Studios, wellness-oriented Sense Studios, a Two-Bedroom Sky Pool Suite and luxury residence-style Nara House, Thara House and the 291-square-meter Bannakarn House.
The retreats are situated in a property whose very structure pays homage to the hallmark A Sense of Place® philosophy of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts®: the silhouette of hotel’s building symbolizes the wai, the elegant Thai gesture of hands pressed together in greeting. In designing the new accommodations, New York-based Lillian Wu Studio honored this concept and further mirrored the drama and sensuousness of Bangkok in the décor and a curated selection of fine, contemporary Thai art and accessories.
“The debut of these stunning accommodations delivers a new facet of ultra-luxury in Bangkok for a range of lifestyles, from business to wellness, romantic getaways to extravagant family sojourns,” says Thomas Harlander, the hotel’s managing director. “Their contemporary elegance is paired with the instinctive, personalized hospitality that is Rosewood’s DNA and service that exemplifies the warmth of the Thai people.”
Sumptuous Studios
The 11 Studio guestrooms are styled with a sensual appeal including textured wallcoverings with geometric prints and pops of ocean blue and olive green colors against warm gray and cream tones. Contemporary Thai art and accessories highlight the talents of local Thai artisans including wall art by Jim Thompson while an indulgent walk-in closet is one of the highlights of the top-of-the-line furnishings and features. A thoughtfully appointed work area with desk accommodates those who need to be productive though the new Studios are perhaps best enjoyed as a stylish home base for exploring the city or simply savouring their vistas amidst the capital’s skyscrapers.
Sense Studios
The Sense Studios offer a seamless wellness retreat experience -- an oasis of calm sophistication for guests to unwind with in-room treatments and therapies from Sense, A Rosewood Spa. Temperature-controlled treatment table offers the ultimate spa-like comfort. Alongside the marble-lined whirlpool, Lillian Wu Studios’ custom-designed vanity showcases a Thai-glazed ceramic basin with rose gold and polished nickel ombré. The two 90-meter Sense Studios are located on the 13th and 16th floors and feature therapeutic views of the 10-story indoor waterfall cocooned inside the hotel.
One-of-a-kind Two-Bedroom Sky Pool Suite
Situated on the 26th floor, the Two-Bedroom Sky Pool Suite brings luxury to new heights. A spacious outdoor terrace with private plunge pool combines lofty views with a resort-in-the-city feel. The stylishly contemporary design includes deep blue leather upholstery accents, soft lighting from rounded wall sconces and light and dark gray pinstriped wallpaper for a playful touch. With its roomy terrace with day beds and separate and spacious living room, the unique 182-square-meter space is an ideal getaway choice for families. The suite can be combined with an Executive Room to produce a 224-square-meter Three-Bedroom Sky Pool Suite.
Nara House
With the concept of an apartment loft of a worldly art collector as its inspiration, Nara House showcases a collection of voluptuous sculptures and a selection of contemporary painting produced by up-and-coming Thai artists including a large piece specially commissioned by contemporary art authority S.A.C. Subhashok The Arts Centre. Alongside a rich color palette of deep green paired with neutral gray tones, vibrant jacquard textiles from Jim Thompson are a colorful salute to Thai heritage. Luxurious amenities include a full-sized dining table, spacious walk-in closet, guest powder room and whirlpool bathtub. Geometric chandeliers throughout Nara House add sophisticated and stylish flair to the 189-square-meter space.
Thara House
Situated on the 23rd floor, the 208-square-meter Thara House follows the same design cues as Nara House but offers more even more living space and an airy ambiance amidst silvery grays and jade green. A luxurious walk-in closet with deep olive green leather details, Dedar wallcovering, flat-screen HD TV, whirlpool bathtub, full-sized dining table and generously sized living room are just some of the luxury features and appliances that complement the private outdoor terrace with plunge pool. Both Nara and Thara House can be combined with a Premier Suite to expand these spacious Houses into private two-bedroom residences.
Bannakarn House
The design of Bannakarn House, the pinnacle of Rosewood Bangkok luxury living situated on the hotel’s top floor, was inspired by the lifestyle of modern Mad Men. It features a sumptuous lounge area, seductive alabaster cocktail bar, grand 10-seat dining table and a full-function kitchen fitted with a wine cooler, full-sized refrigerator and Gaggenau appliances. On arrival, the refrigerator will be stocked with snacks and provisions that match each guest’s stay and occasion. The marbled bathroom features a custom vanity design with contrasting white and black marble stone counters, lacquer vanity cabinets and cast bronze sconces.
Decked with ornate moldings and artisanal accents by local craftspersons, Bannakarn House also features a commissioned figurative oil painting on canvas by Bangkok artist Amnaj Wachirasut, a separate powder room, spacious walk-in closet and outdoor lounges, sunbeds and plunge pool.
Chefs and bartenders from the hotel’s Nan Bei Chinese restaurant, Lakorn European Brasserie and Lennon’s speakeasy bar can serve a private dinner or cocktails upon request for glamourous parties or unforgettable get-togethers with family and friends. In the spirit of welcoming guests into a private manor, Bannakarn House residents have exclusive access to their own dedicated elevator accessed through a private entrance.
