A solo exhibition in collaboration with ATTA Gallery, presenting contemporary Thai textile art by Wuthigrai Siriphon.
Captivated by the iridescent beauty of jewel beetle wings, which have adorned clothing and jewelry for centuries across various cultures, Wuthigrai Siriphon saw an untold potential in these materials. Noticing that they had never been used in weaving, he set out on a journey of research and experimentation, eventually transforming jewel beetle wings into a unique textile medium. Drawing inspiration from the architecture and murals of temples throughout Thailand, the artist infused his works with the colors, shapes, and atmosphere of sacred spaces, all while exploring the concept of "faith." His handwoven creations, crafted using techniques inspired by tung (ceremonial flags) and manuscript wrappings, tell a story that blends ancient traditions with innovative artistry.
