Notably, The Carlyle is also recognized as the number 1 hotel in the United States, making it the top American property on the list. This marks the first year that The Carlyle has ranked on the coveted list, which debuted in 2023 to great industry acclaim. As one of hospitality’s most reputable independent ranking systems, 50 Best reflects the experiences of a highly discerning panel of voters, each selected for their expert opinion and background in the hotel scene. The inclusion of The Carlyle on the list cements its position as an exemplar in the global hospitality landscape that is contributing to the exciting evolution of the industry. The Carlyle is one of four Rosewood hotels and resorts to have earned this prestigious distinction, with Hotel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel, Rosewood São Paulo, and Rosewood Hong Kong also ranking.

The second edition of The World’s 50 Best Hotels was announced at a captivating awards ceremony held at London’s historic Guildhall on Tuesday, September 17. This evening brought together the global travel and hospitality community to celebrate the finest hotel experiences renowned for inspiring consumers, travelers and hoteliers around the world. The winning properties were revealed as part of a live countdown from number 50 to number 1, with rankings collated from the votes of 600 anonymous experts. This voting panel – the 50 Best Hotels Academy – comprises a balanced mix of hoteliers, travel journalists, educators and seasoned luxury travellers, led by a group of industry-leading Academy Chairs. The ceremony also revealed a host of special awards to collectively reflect the very best travel experiences around the globe.
