The Legendary Upper East Side hotel set to reopen the adored bar in addition to The Gallery and In-Room dining on May 11th

New York, NY – April 19, 2021 – The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel is thrilled to announce the reopening of the beloved Bemelmans Bar on Tuesday, May 11th. Additionally, The Gallery and In-Room Dining will resume operations as well. Executive Chef Sylvain Delpique, who recently joined the hotel following a six-year stint at the iconic ‘21’ Club, has enhanced each menu and put his twist on the classic cuisine. Upon reopening, Bemelmans Bar will debut a new signature cocktail menu including drinks such as Elaine’s Smokey Martini and Madeline’s Vesper, in addition to all the traditional choices from Martinis to Manhattans.
For the first time in Bemelmans almost 75-year history, reservations will be available through Tock beginning on Thursday, April 22 at 12:00 noon. Walk-ins are still welcome however reservations are strongly encouraged. Live music will be available nightly from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will feature pianist and composer Earl Rose on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays; pianist and singer Rob Mosci on Wednesdays and Thursdays; and jazz pianist and vocalist Loston Harris will perform Fridays and Saturdays. Bemelmans Bar and The Gallery will be open daily from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight with menu offerings including dishes such Montauk Fluke Ceviche, Herb Crusted Lamb Chops and Croque Monsieur. The hotel will also be launching the bar’s own dedicated Instagram handle today, @bemelmansbar.
To ensure a safe and comfortable experience, Bemelmans Bar has reduced capacity to adhere to state and city guidelines, along with reconfigured table layouts to ensure social distancing. Café Carlyle and The Carlyle Restaurant remain closed; however, the hotel looks forward to reopening both outlets as soon as possible.

Since reopening The Carlyle in November 2020, the guestrooms and suites are operating in accordance with the guidelines put in place by the local, state and national authorities, as well as with Rosewood Hotel Group’s brand-wide health and safety program, Commitment to Care. Guided by leading health experts including the World Health Organization (WHO) and third-party partners at Ecolab and Diversey, Commitment to Care offers heightened standards for safety and sanitation to ensure the well-being of guests, associates, and the community at large. This includes the increased cleaning and disinfecting of common areas and touch points and implementation of physical distancing protocols. All associates have gone through mandatory health and safety training and have received personal protective equipment to be worn while on property. Additionally, The Carlyle caters to the individual preferences of each guest with alternative, contactless options for check-in and check-out and housekeeping services, ensuring the maximum level of comfort and safety.
