Raquel Tobias is a samba singer and composer from the South Zone of São Paulo. She started as a pastor more than 15 years ago and today continues a solo career composing and singing sambas with partners from the peripheries. She was president of the collective “O Samba de Todos os Tempos”, singer in the musical wing of the Escola de Samba Estrela do Terceiro Milênio and in Bloco Pagu. She has shared stages with Fabiana Cozza, Samba de Dandara, Teresa Cristina, Sombrinha, among others. With her powerful and striking voice, Raquel Tobias enchants wherever she goes, bringing the story of samba lived firsthand.
