This walking conference focuses on the heritage architecture of Luang Prabang, both religious and civil. The walk is oriented towards the lesser-known parts of the town including charming lanes showing the more traditional atmosphere of the heritage town. Guests will understand then the different influences which affected the architecture during colonial times up to the present. Explanations will be added about the plants encountered on the way.
Francis Engelmann is a writer and an independent consultant, with thirty years of work experience in Laos. He advised UNESCO for 20 years. He also supported the Luang Prabang Conservation Authority (today The Luang Prabang World Heritage Department), and The Quiet in the Land - Art and Education Project.
