Full of precision and passion within the culinary arts, Chef Luca De Negri has applied his expertise as Rosewood Phuket’s executive chef since the hotel’s pre-opening.
An Italian native, Chef Luca’s repertoire has been honed by 23 years’ experience and achievement around the world.
He first carved out his path in the culinary field by receiving a hotelier bachelor degree at G.Colombatto in Torino, Italy, as well as a hotelier diploma at Cefppa Strasbourg.
He then gained invaluable experience working in Michelin-star restaurants, including Chateau de Ligny in France, LÉrmitage in Switzerland and Le Gavroche in the U.K.
His passion for travelling brought him to Jakarta, Indonesia where he worked for the prestigious Mercantile Athletic Club and the Shangri-La Hotel, before joining what many consider the world’s most luxurious hotel – the Burj Al Arab in Dubai – and its Majlis Al Bahar restaurant, a “Best Romantic Restaurant” award-winner by Time Out Magazine. Before joining Rosewood, he was part of the pre-opening team of the Four Seasons Dubai.
Along the way, Chef Luca has garnered acclaim and recognition, including he and his culinary team winning 17 medals in 2012 at the Salon Culinaire competition held in Dubai and another 22 medals in 2013.
Chef Luca brings his obsession with cooking, combined with enthusiasm for discovering new cultures and tastes, to his role at Rosewood Phuket.
