A native of Mexico City, Mexico, Monica is a well-respected hotelier with 22 years of hospitality experience. She started her career in 2000 at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company in the reservations department. She was later recruited to be a part of the pre-opening team of the One & Only Palmilla where she took on a variety of executive-level roles during her tenure before joining Rosewood Mayakoba in 2013, initially as director of guest relations and then promoted quickly to rooms division manager. In April 2019, Monica joined Rosewood Baha Mar as resort manager.

Monica graduated from the Universidad La Salle in Cancun, Mexico, known for its academic excellence and empowering community engagement, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. First in her graduating class, she received high honors along with the Gold Medal for Excellence.
